Zion National Park - 9/05

Two 'must-do' hikes in Zion National Park include the Narrows river walk, and the hike up to Angel's Landing!

Zion Narrows river hike was a hoot!

We used rented rubber shoes, neoprene socks and stout walking stick.

The Virgin River was from knee deep to George's shoulders, Sue had to swim twice.

Wally's Wiggles were 21 switch backs on the backside of Angel's Landing.

The trail exposure gave excitement to the magnificent views.

The exposed areas had chains to hand on to.

The trail was 3.5' wide here. It gave us pleasant memories of Switzerland trails.

What a delightful climb to the top!

Downward sloping sandstone rocks gave the smart hiker pause.

The top of Angel's Landing gives a magnificent perspective of Zion!
