Zihautanejo, Mexico

Zihautanejo was our furthest south destination on the Mexican Riviera.  Ted and Christine took a vacation week and flew down to enjoy it with us.  We snorkeled, kayaked on an Eco Adventure Tour, sailed a Hobie Cat, and relaxed playing Mexican Train dominos and card games.

The white hotel was the Solavento where Ted and Christine stayed.

The harbor was a colorful scene.

The Z-Fest Boat Parade had 50+ boats involved.

The morning fish market always had plenty.

Relaxing included card games and Mexican Train dominos.

Lunch at the local palapa on the beach was tasty.

Sue loved having time with Ted and Christine!

Christine enjoyed a fresh coconut drink!

We woke up one morning to find a cruise ship in the middle of the harbor.

Brian led an Eco Tour in the back mangrove lagoon.

Christine and ted in theirEco Tour kayaks.

Skimmers flocked in the mangrove lagoons.

This pond was the source of water for an old salt mine.

The salt water carried by buckets was poured through this sand screen.

The salt water was then led to the drying area through canals.

These flat drying areas yielded sacks of coarse crystal salt.
