San Francisco II

San Francisco stretches in many directions for the explorer.  Trips up the Sacramento River and the Petaluma River gave us enjoyable perspectives.  So many marinas exist to handle the boat enthusiasts.  We visited Alameda Marina Village, Berkeley YC, Richmond YC, Emeryville, Sausalito YC, San Francisco YC, and Sir Francis Drake's YC.

Dream Chaser in front of Sausalito Yacht Club.

John enjoyed the Bay from Sausalito YC.

Phoebe felt right at home at Sausalito YC.

The sailboat could never lean enough for Phoebe! She loved going fast.

Jack London Square in Oakland was a hub of activity and entertainment.

Ted took us on a tour of the Richmond Bridge Project that he helped engineer. Here are 2 co-workers with the bridge in the background.

The bridge showed us many different faces during our stay.

The construction divers had a decompression tank available to them. They often needed an hour inside the tank. A sleeping bag kept it warmer inside.

A container ship damaged a pier fender avoiding a sailboat. The sailboat was at fault!!!
