Queenstown, NZ 2010

Queenstown is the hub of tourism and adrenaline seekers on the South Island of NZ.  This is where bungy jumpers jump off perfectly good bridges, sky divers jump out of perfectly good planes, paragliders jump off of precipitous cliffs, jet boats skim inches away from river rock faces,...need I go on?!  This is the jump off point for the Milford Trek for Sue and Katie.

George hugs a Douglass Fir in the local gardens.

Sue and Katie are at the top of the gondola overview of Queenstown.

We took the SS Earnshaw across the lake to see Walter Peak sheep station.

Sue feeds one of the local sheep.

Lindsay shears the wool off this six year old.

The early 1900s buildings at Walter Peak were in great condition.

Sue, George and Katie took an all-day bus trip to Milford Sound to see the sights before their trek.

The catamoran boat ride on Milford Sound was a highlight!

The sunny weather made Milford Sound stand out!

Many falls gave opportunities for up close and personal experiences (wet ones).
