Half way down the South Island in the Southern Alps is Mt. Cook National
Park. The sun shined brightly for us, an unexpected pleasure. Mt.
Cook was Sir Edmund Hillary's training grounds. And the NZ Mountaineering
Club began in 1894, the same year as the Mazama's in Portland! Katie Foehl
flew from Portland to be with Sue on the Milford/Rootburn Treks in March.
