From Coos Bay to Eureka, CA took us about 32 hours of 'ocean
work'. Ocean work is my term for watch-standing, navigating, handling the
changing sea state (rocking, rolling, and yawing), and getting enough rest
between watches. We rented a car, and drove north to the Redwood National
Park and specifically to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove.

US Coast Guard station at Eureka gave us a bar condition report. But the policy is it's up to the skipper of the boat to decide about crossing bars.

Whenever I see two trees this close, the biblical Sampson naturally comes to mind.

Sue inspects the fire damage. Some of these 'rooms' were used by settlers for corraling small farm animals.

'Tree hugger' instincts were close to the surface!
