Returning home from Puerto Vallarta's 88 degrees to Portland's 26 degrees was
a shocker. But enjoying family and friends for the holidays is always a
special time, and wouldn't be missed by anyone. When we arrived in
Portland, OR, we found that the Pacific Northwest cities were under one of the
bigger winter storms people could remember. 16 inches had fallen in the
Portland hills. George hadn't shoveled snow like this since when he was
growing up.
