Santa Catalina Island

   After Newport Beach and Disneyland, we sailed to Santa Catalina Island, joining hundreds of boats from Southern California in one of their favorite cruising grounds.

The Wrigley Casino in Avalon was home to the Big Bands in the 50's where radio broadcasts came from on Friday nights.

The Casino dance floor was set up for the Jazz Festival.

Every cactus type thinkable was present.

The Wrigley Botanical Garden highlighted arid plants from all over the world.

A purple finch feasted on a prickly pear fruit.
