Arriving San Francisco 091208

Leaving Coos Bay, Oregon on September 8th, we encountered the roughest conditions to date with gale force winds NW35 Gusts to 42.  After a quick stop in Eureka, CA, we settled into San Francisco for a few day sails with family and friends.  Emery Cove Yacht Harbor was a strategic base of operation.

Northern Waterthrush stowed aboard coming down the coast about ten miles offshore.

Scrambled egg provided sustenance for the trip back to shore.

NOAA weather buoys like 46013 provide weather data for us.

Bill Murdock crewed from Portland, making a difficult trip managable. More than watch rotation, his jovial and thoughtful presence added much.

Sue revelled in arriving at the Golden Gate!

Ted holding son Caleb with Jason looking on.

Grandson Caleb was aboard for a day sail in SF.

Sister Donna took in the whole experience sailing the Bay.

Sister Donna and her daughter-in-law Christy enjoyed a day on the Bay.

My nephew Jason was a quick student.
