Anchorage/Telkeetna/Seward

After seeing Glacier Bay National Park with the Holsers, we flew via Alaska Airlines from Juneau to Anchorage to see Ken and Judy Pendleton (sv Nellie Juan), friends we met in Mexico.  The Pendletons took us to their lake cabin in Willow,  then we drove up to Telkeetna for views of Delani NP, and then to Seward  on the Central Alaska Coast where we walked looking at wildflowers and red sockeye salmon!

Telkeetna, AK is the starting point for most Denali climbs.

The West Rib Pub in Telkeetna had climbing memorabilia everywhere!

Although totally socked in at first, the clouds cleared to give us the once-in-a lifetime view of Denali - 20,320'.

The Pendleton's lake cabin in Willow was a peaceful retreat!

At Potter Marsh near Anchorage these two red sockeye salmon were back from the sea to mate.

Bunchberry Dogwood covered the ground everywhere.

Wild Cranberry was one of the many berries.

Wild Currents tempted the on-looker.

Wild Rose soon turned to rose hips.

Pink Pyrolla was a frequent flower on the trail side.
